New research group leader

On 1 April 2020, Dr. techn. Evgeniya Kabliman has joined our team at the Chair of Materials Engineering of Additive Manufacturing. She will set up and lead a research group modelling the metallic materials and their behavior during the Additive Manufacturing using the methods of Computational Materials Science at different length scales. A special focus will be given to the microstructure formation and related phenomena.

Dr. Kabliman has received her bachelor and master’s degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics at the South Urals State University in Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2006 and 2008. Then she postgraduated in Technical Sciences from TU Wien in Vienna, Austria in 2011. Before joining the Technical University of Munich, she worked as a Senior Scientist at Light Metals Technologies Ranshofen, a subsidiary of the Austrian Institute of Technology. There she was responsible for the materials modelling and simulation of the thermo-mechanical processing of metals with a focus on microstructure evolution. It included also the application of the data-driven modelling methods to describe the process-structure-property relations.
