In Pasing, you will find working groups 4 (Chemistry) and 5 (Bituminous and mineral construction materials).
On foot from Pasing S-Bahn railway station, about 10 minutes
Alight at Pasing railway station. Go to the exit marked Gottfried-Keller-Straße at the north side of the station. Walk right following the road “Gottfried-Keller-Straße” until it ends at the “Offenbachstraße”. Turn right into the Offenbachstraße. Go about 30 metres and then cross the Offenbachstraße at the pedestrian light entering Nusselstraße at the traffic light. After about 700 meters turn right into the Baumbachstraße. After about 30 m turn left keeping to the Baumbachstraße. The cbm entrance is on the right after about 50 metres.
From Pasing S-Bahn railway station by bus
Alight at Pasing railway station and go to the Bahnhofplatz (Railway Square) at the south side of the station. Take bus nr. 162 going to Moosach. Get off at the stop “Josef-Lang-Straße”. Walk in the same direction as the bus for a further 100 metres and then turn right into Baumbachstraße. After about 30 m turn left keeping to the Franz-Langinger-Straße.The cbm entrance is on the right after about 50 metres.
From the airport by train (S-Bahn)
Take the S-Bahn S8 (to Weßling or Herrsching) and get off at Pasing railway station. You may then either walk or take a bus to the cbm as described above.
The name of the street changed to Franz-Langinger-Straße 10 on May 1st, 2020. The cbm is still in the same buildings.

In Garching, you will find working groups 1 (Binders and concrete additions), 2 (Concrete technology), 3 (Steel and corrosion), 6 (Non-destructive testing), and 7 (Digital construction).
The best way to reach the cbm by car is via the A9 highway (Munich-Nuremberg)
- Exit at exit 70 "Garching Nord"
- Follow the signs for "Hochschul- und Forschungszentrum /TUM"
- South Entrance: Cross Freisinger Landstraße, follow the course of Ludwig-Prantl-Straße, turn sharply left onto Boltzmannstraße, and follow it to Lichtenbergstraße
- North Entrance: Turn left onto Freisinger Landstraße and after about 600 meters, turn right onto Lichtenbergstraße
- Parking: Public parking spaces (some paid) are available at the research site
When arriving at Munich Central Station, the best way to reach the cbm is by S-Bahn (suburban train) and U-Bahn (subway) (travel time approx. 40 minutes).
- Take the S-Bahn towards "Marienplatz"
- Change at "Marienplatz" to the U6 (blue line) towards "Garching-Forschungszentrum"
- Exit the U-Bahn at the final stop "Garching-Forschungszentrum" in the direction of travel and walk north to Lichtenbergstraße.
Additionally, various buses can reach the bus stop „Garching-Forschungszentrum“. From the bus stop, walk north to Lichtenbergstraße.
When arriving at the airport, you have many options to reach the cbm. We recommend you the following two options via S-Bahn (suburbahn train) and bus (travel time approx. 40 minutes) Option 1:
- Take the S-Bahn S8 towards „Herrsching”
- Change at “Ismaning” to the bus 230 towards “Garching Forschungszentrum”.
- Exit the bus at the final stop “Garching Forschungszentrum” and walk north to Lichtenbergstraße.
Option 2:
- Take the S-Bahn S1 towards „München Leuchtenbergring”.
- Change at “Neufahrn b. Freising” to the bus 690 towards “Garching Forschungszentrum”.
- Exit the bus at the final stop “Garching Forschungszentrum” and walk north to Lichtenbergstraße.
