On 1 September 2020, Nico Hempel joined our team at the Chair of Materials Engineering of Additive Manufacturing. He will set up and lead a research group dealing with the thermomechanical behavior of materials produced for and by Additive Manufacturing. Before coming to Munich, Mr. Hempel worked at TU Braunschweig, where he was involved in the experimental and numerical analysis of welding residual stresses as well as in testing of materials and components.
