Advanced materials are a key-prerequisite of an industrialized economy. The realization of any technological idea is intimately linked to the availability of appropriate materials. Even though the scientific permeation of material development has increased significantly over the past decades, the full potential of available materials still remains to be exploited. The research activities of the Institute concentrate on processing - microstructure - properties relationships so to achieve tailored material properties for specific applications.
