Course Overview
The students will acquire basic knowledge of the internal structure, composition, production, processing, properties, and construction applications of mineral building materials (glass, clay, masonry, concrete) based on natural science principles. Topics covered include mechanical behavior, deformation properties, stress-strain diagrams, strengths, and thermal behavior. Additionally, building materials will be presented using practical examples.
It is recommended to take the course "Materials in Architecture 1" either prior to or simultaneously with this course.
