Course Overview
The students acquire basic knowledge of the internal structure, composition, production, processing, properties, and construction application of metallic building materials (steel, iron, non-ferrous metals) and organic building materials (wood, plastics), based on natural science fundamentals.
The course covers topics such as mechanical behavior, including deformation properties, stress-strain diagrams, and strengths, as well as thermal behavior. Furthermore, materials in civil engineering are introduced using practical examples relevant to the field.
